Join with the Nettle Creek Church of the Brethren on Sunday to celebrate Paula Ulrich's ordination! While we miss having Paula (and her husband Dan) with us, we're so proud of her work as pastor at Nettle Creek.
The service will be at Nettle Creek (maps are available in the gathering area) at 4pm on Sunday, April 19.
The earth is the Lord's and all that is in it, the world, and those who live in it; for God has founded it on the seas, established it on the rivers. - Psalm 24:1-2
Earth day is April 22nd, and one of the many ways that we can take part in caring for and healing our planet is by praying for it. At 11:30am we will host an Earth Day prayer gathering, as part of this year's series of Community United Prayer Services. Anyone and everyone is encouraged to come and join us as we pray for our environment, the planet, and all of creation.

Come over to Pastor Matt's house at 7pm on Monday nights for a simple meal and lively conversations about how we experience scripture and faith intersecting with our everyday lives. Food is served at 7; conversation formally starts around 7:30 and we wrap things up about 8:30.
Unsure where tension in the congregation comes from, why there is friction over seemingly little things, or why certain issues never get discussed in the church? Attend "Mediating Conflict in Faith Communities," a full-day workshop on Thursday, June 4, to look for answers.
Please join us on June 13 from 9am-3pm in the Fellowship Hall for our Rummage Sale! Come early to find the best deals.
If you would like to donate to the Rummage Sale, set-up will be at 6pm the night before (June 12). Please help us out by pricing items before you bring them.
Proceeds will be used by the Women's Fellowship Group for charitable outreach.

Yes, it is short notice, but the corn is ready for harvest! We're
thankful to Fred Edmonds for providing the land and to Ron Ityre for
providing the seed for this year's Corn on the CoB event.
In a change of schedule from previous years, we will meet at 9:30am on Saturday to go pick. If you want to help shuck and cook you can show up around 11:30am. Our corn-y lunch feast will start around noon - invite your friends and neighbors, everyone's welcome! If you are able, also bring a light side dish or dessert to share.
Our church is always excited to welcome new and returning students back for another year of studies at Earlham College and other nearby institutions! We have several EC students who are a part of the life of our congregation. Each Sunday morning we provide transportation to and from worship - meet us outside the Landrum Boling Center at 9:50am! There are always light snacks and drinks available before worship from 10-10:30 during our "Chew 'n Chat" time.
There will also be a special welcome-back lunch for college students on Sunday September 6 at the Ottoni-Wilhelm home following worship. Join us for a great meal! We'll also be welcoming a couple of foreign exchange students as well. Invite any of your friends who would like to know more about our congregation! There will be plenty of food for everyone, including vegetarian selections.
On September 20th we will gather for worship in Mary Scott Park instead of our usual location. Our theme this year will be the International Day of Prayer for Peace. Bring a blanket or chair to sit on, bring a friend, and bring a bit of food to share since we'll have lunch together after worship! Everyone is invited to come and worship amidst the beauty of Creation!
On Sunday October 4th at 6pm we will recognize World Communion Sunday as we gather for Love Feast. The Love Feast is our tradition's expression of communion, and is a lived-out remembering of the last supper Jesus shared with his disciples. All are welcome to come and participate in this deep, authentic expression of community and faith.
UPDATE: Unfortunately Tom has made the difficult decision to discontinue his bike trip following a serious back injury earlier this week. After 1500 miles he will be headed home to Illinois to recover for the winter, in hopes of possibly getting back on the road in the spring. We will still have our pot luck lunch as planned, but with no special presentation. See you then!
Our choir will join with the choir from the West Richmond Friends Meeting to present a Christmas cantata on Sunday, December 6th. The combined choir will perform at both worship services - 9:30am with West Richmond Friends and 10:30am with us. Nearly 30 singers will take part in the program, featuring familiar carols arranged by John Rutter.
Come and as we celebrate the coming of the Christ child through singing and scripture as part of this exciting and unique worship gathering!
