On Sunday March 14th at 4:30pm we will gather for a pot-luck dinner (ifpossible, bring Irish or green favorites!). This will be followed byour talent show where we ask you to share your talent: musical,dramatic, humorous, or reading.
Come to our fellowship hall this Thursday, April 8th at 7pm for an exciting workshop with Tom Benevento of the New Community Project on "Creating Sustainable Communities."
Come help us help out the Cope Environmental Center as we work to clear invasive species and get the center ready for spring and summer activities! Everyone's welcome to come and lend a hand - we'll meet at Cope at 1pm.

As part of “Faith and Food” month we are sponsoring a panel discussion on faith and food Wednesday June 23rd at 7pm. We will begin with a pot-luck meal, followed by each of our four panelists sharing about their own diverse personal connections between faith and food.
Richmond Church of the Brethren welcomes Bethany, ESR, and Earlham College students back for the fall semester! To celebrate the start of the new semester, we are hosting, in good Church of the Brethren fashion, an ice cream social and game night in the church fellowship hall Sunday, September 12, 2010 at 7pm. Ice cream, including delicious vegan options, and sundae toppings will be available along with a variety of fun board and card games. Bethany, ESR, and Earlham students as well as all other members and friends of our congregation are invited to attend.
Every year on September 21st the World Council of Churches encourages people of faith around the world to pause and pray that peace might prevail in our broken, war-torn world. On Tuesday, Sept. 21st there will be an ecumenical Peace Vigil on the front lawn of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in downtown Richmond.
The Richmond Computer Hardware Co-op is re-launching in a larger space, and we'd like to invite you to come check it out!
The Hardware Co-op accepts donations of computers and things that plug into them, fixes and redistributes what we can, and responsibly recycles what we can't.The Clear Creek Food Co-op is sponsoring cooking classes that will take place in our church's kitchen! On October 23rd, come learn about the healing properties of food and how to keep your whole family healthy by eating better. This class will be taught by Kurt Ritchie, a member of the Richmond CoB.
The cost for co-op members is $5 and $10 for non-members. The registration fee will go to cover supplies for the class.

To celebrate fall, we are hosting a harvest party and trip to the corn maze, October 30, 2010 at 7pm. Fall themed snacks and drinks, including delicious vegetarian and vegan options, will be available from 7pm to 8pm in the church fellowship hall, then those interested can join us at Today's Harvest to explore the 8 mile maze.

After worship on November 7th we will gather for a pot-luck meal followed by a congregational meeting to discuss next year's budget. Based on past patterns of giving and projected financial contributions for 2011, the Ministry Team will share several potential solutions for how to spend our money wisely and faithfully in the coming year.
Join in on Sunday December 12 at 3pm for the gift giving of Caroling. We will have have a number of home-bound folks to sing to, and we'll need YOUR voice to bring the fullness of Christmas. Dress in festive holiday gear. Wear your jingle bells, reindeer antlers, wear those sweaters that can only be worn once a year! If you are not a singer, come and be a smiler! After we are done, join in a light meal around 5pm before our December Congregational Meeting.
One of the most important congregational meetings of the year is happening this Sunday at 6pm in the fellowship hall. It's important because we'll be discussing and approving a budget proposal for 2011 that includes a move to less than full-time pastoral leadership. We'll also be affirming as a community nominations for congregational leadership positions, among other business. Anyone who is a member or active participant in the life of our congregation is strongly encouraged to attend.
If you'd like to gather for dinner beforehand, those who are caroling will be sharing a simple potluck at 5pm, and anyone else is welcome to join in as well! The congregational meeting will immediately follow this light meal.
On Thursday, February 10th there will be a memorial gathering at the Richmond Church of the Brethren to remember and celebrate Al's life. Friends are invited to begin gathering at 3pm for a time of visitation and the service will begin at 3:30pm.
On Sunday February 20th at 5pm we're hosting a meeting of the local interfaith group, Children of Abraham. There will be a potluck and program. The program for this month is viewing the second segment of the DVD series “The History of God”, which gives an overview of the development of the major monotheistic religions throughout history.
